Fontaines DC to bring UK tour to Hull this November

Irish band FONTAINES DC – just announced as the ‘best band in the world’ – will visit Hull’s Bonus Arena this November.

In support of new album ‘Skinty Fia’, the band, who just took home the trophy for Best Band In The World at the 2022 NME Awards, will perform in the city on Monday, 7 November.

Tickets go on sale at 10am on Wednesday, 30 March.

Skinty Fia is an Irish phrase which translates to English as “the damnation of the deer” and the album’s cover art features a deer, plucked from its natural habitat and deposited in the hallway of a home, illuminated by an artificial red glow.

The phrase, which is used to display disappointment or annoyance, resonated with frontman Grian Chatten as the correct expression of his feelings towards the “mutation” of Irish culture abroad. The song explores the idea through the lens of a relationship doomed by paranoia, alcohol and drugs.

The band perform at festivals across the UK and Europe this summer, including Glastonbury Festival and Reading & Leeds.

Standing and seated tickets are available for the band’s show in Hull this November.

Tickets will be available from www.bonusarenahull.com and Ticketmaster.
