SUNBIRDS return to HULL on Thursday 7th December 2023!

The Beautiful South’s co-founder Dave Hemingway’s new band SUNBIRDS return to HULL – Adelphi Club on Thursday 7th December 2023!

Sunbirds, the new band of The Beautiful South’s Dave Hemingway, continue their rise with the release of a brand new single ‘Make Up Your Mind’ released on Friday 1st September, a feel-good earworm featuring Laura on vocals produced by Nigel Stonier (Fairport Convention, Paul Young, Lindisfarne).

November 2020 saw Sunbirds release ‘Cool To Be Kind’ on the independent label Nectar Records. Kevin Cooper of UK Music Reviews described it as a ‘ a must-have album from an amazing new band’ while John Aizlewood of MOJO called it ‘an album with warmth to spare’.

With the arrival of multi-instrumentalist Chris Offen in 2022, Sunbirds influences have now expanded and range from Americana, 70’s Pop and Folk to Indie Grunge Rock.  A tongue-in-cheek description of the music by the band would be “The Osmonds fight Radiohead while Stevie Nicks holds the coats”.

2023 will see the band continue to grow with the release of their next album ‘A Life Worth Living’ scheduled for 2024 and many live dates around the UK.

Being accomplished musicians, this 6-piece love to perform and always pull out all the stops whether it be performing favourites from Cool To Be Kind, showcasing new material from A Life Worth Living, or dropping one or two songs from Dave’s undeniable legacy.

SUNBIRDS are a band very much on the way up as their shows testify. Catch them in small intimate venues while you can, don’t miss out, this band truly soars.
